The booth of the HAGEN company was one of the largest booths at InterZoo 2014 fair. There were numerous aquariums displayed there, both planted and marine. In this video I show you freshwater planted aquariums. 00:28 - Fluval Fresh aquarium set. I think it is not F-90, volume 128 liters, because it looks larger. The layout is very interesting, with large fragment of driftwood curved in an interesting way. Plants used here are: Cyperus helferi, Eleocharis accicularis, Anubias nana, Hemianthus callitrichoides, Cryptocoryne sp., and some aquatic moss on driftwood 01:57 - I think this aquarium is Fluval Fresh F-60 aquarium set, volume 85 liters. Very nice and well balanced composition, with ADA Dragon Stones used as a main decoration. Plants used in this layout are: Cyperus helferi, Eleocharis accicularis, Pogostemon helferi, Heminathus callitrichoides and Glossostigma elatinoides. 03:05 - This cube is probably Fluval Fresh F-35 aquarium set, volume 58 liters. Quite interesting composition, with a "lonely tree" theme The trunk is simply a fragment of driftwood, and the leaves are clumps of Hemianthus callitrichoides, still rooted in mineral wool in which they are usually sold in shops. The whole "tree" looks like a willow, and has very nice proportions. In my opinion, however, the group of stemmed plants in the right corner in the back is not neccessary. First, it is almost covered by the tree, second, it makes the tree less visible. What do you think, guys? 04:34 - Fluval Fresh F-90 aquarium set, volume 128 liters. Another nice composition, this time variation of the theme "path in the middle". Looks quite fresh (I mean, it's newly set up), but in time it would develop into very nice tank. Plants used in this layout are: Anubias nana, Anubias barteri, Anubias sp., and Bolbitis heudelotii. Enjoy the video!
Several small aquariums, displayed at the booth of the Hagen company during InterZoo 2014. There were some more tanks, but I've filmed only four which I considered to be the best 00:22 - Fluval Spec aquarium, volume 19 liters. It is a very good example of how a succesful tank for Betta could be arranged - lots of plants, lots of hiding places, effective filtration. This is how a Betta tank should look like! Plants used in this layout: Ammania sp. "Bonsai", Anubias barteri, A. nana, Eleocharis accicularis, Pogostemon helferi, Hemianthus callitrichoides "Cuba". 01:41 - another Fluval Spec aquarium, this time it's 10 liters tank (I think ). Such small volume barealy leaves space fo decorations, but still, somthing can be done here. This tank has no substrate - could be painful in the long term, becuse the bottom would require vacuuming, which would be hard with all these driftwood obstacles. Yet, still a nice composition, with large individual of Anubias sp. being the main part of the layout. 02:26 - Fluval Edge tank, volume 23 liters. Another example of nicely arranged very small tank. This "grass" on the bottom is Cladophora ("green balls algae"), cut to fragments and flattened against the bottom. White sand and grey pebbles add more colour and diversity to the composition. The single plant used is Anubias sp., and the shrimps are Neocaridina davidi "Red Rili" 03:13 - another Fluval Edge aquarium, this time the bigger version, volume 46 liters. Quite simple layout, and there could be more plants, especially in the upper half of the layout. Plant used - Bolbitis heudelotii "Compact" (I think ).
Small exhibition of Fluval Edge tanks, set at the booth of Hagen company during InterZoo 2014. Special feature of Edge aquariums is that their top is glued to walls, and there is only small opening in the middle of the top. When you fill the tank with water completely it looks attractive, indeed, but I'm not so sure if it's a good idea. First, it restricts the area of gas exchange going through the water surface. Second, it restricts the area over which the illumination can be mounted. Of course, you can put additional lamps over the glass top, but I don't think one would buy such a "stylish" tank to put addtional lamps to it. Third, I can't imagine cleaning the tank, especially in the corners (reaching from the top opening to the bottom corners with the hose to do vacuuming...? hmmm). Also the cleaning glass procedure might be somewhat difficult, especially in the top edges. But I have no experience myself with these tanks, so if anyone here has them and can share some infos in the Comments it would be much appreciated 00:27 - very nice composition, with Hemianthus callitrichoides, Anubias nana, A. barteri, and clumps of Pogostemon helferi here and there. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in my opinion it wouldn't be possible to grow such a dense carpet of Hemianthus using only the light built into the cover, and without CO2. The composition doesn't seem to be pregrown, and Hemianthus has already started to die... 01:58 - hmmm, this tank also seems to have some problems with cleaning / diatoms (the brownish tint on glass and substrate)... Maybe there were some errors made during the setting up phase, however, none of other marine aquariums at Hagen's booth, set up in "normal" aquariums, seemed to have similar problems... OK, so, to summarize - in my opinion Edge aquariums look attractive, but they demand a careful planning of the layout, because only particular plants and fishes will do fine in such tanks. And to be honest - the best looking layouts in Edge tanks at Hagen's booth were those with plastic plants and (as far as I remember) without any fish. I didn't film them, of course, because I don't think tanks with plastic plants belong into "fishkeeping hobby realm"

Cześć.
Chciałem zapytać się wszystkich posiadaczy filtra o to czy wymiar podawany przez producenta jest taki sam dla całej wysokości filtra? Fluval podaje że filtr ma szerokość 18 centymetrów. Ale z t...
