The very first special feature is called “NA Challengers 2017”, which includes a documentary of the making of layouts created by ADA staff. In the past, all aquariums displayed at NA Gallery had been created by Takashi Amano and there is a necessity for ADA to keep creating new aquariums. In ADA, there are many staff who had watched and learnt knowhow to create layouts with Takashi Amano. Among those staff, the chosen three staff challenge to create new layouts. In Nature Aquarium, “choosing a color scheme" is very important when planting aquatic plants. It is because the balance of the composition and the impression of the aquascape change dramatically depending on how you create color combinations of plants. In this special feature, we explain important points about effective plant colorations, using some of Nature Aquarium layouts as examples. The article contains a catalog in which aquatic plants assorted by color. It will be a good reference for you when selecting plants for a planted aquarium.
Using liquid nutrients is an essential factor, besides light and CO2, to grow healthy, colorful aquatic plants. The magazine also offers a guide to ADA’s new liquid nutrients and the Aqua Conditioner series, which are scheduled to be launched in mid-February, 2017.

In this month's issue titled "Layout Material Catalog," we take a close look at a variety of layout materials, which are indispensable for creating Nature Aquarium layouts. From composition materials (stones and driftwood) to substrate materials (Aqua Soils and cosmetic sand) and others (Wabi-Kusa mats and Moss rocks), this special issue covers the entire range of ADA's layout materials. It gives some example aquascapes to teach basic uses of each layout material, and helps inspire new ideas for your aquascapes. Special Feature The History of World Biggest Nature Aquarium, “Oceanário de Lisboa, from 2015-2017” The special feature in this issue showcases the world biggest Nature Aquarium tank, “Forests Underwater” in Oceanário de Lisboa, Portugal.
It was created at the end of January, 2015, and opened for public viewing on April. It has been over 2 years since its installation, and Forests Underwater is more and more turning into “a natural river”. In this special feature, photographs taken from different angles will enable readers to imagine the overview as if they’re standing in front of the tank. The article also introduces the phases from the preparation to production.
